BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Dr. S. Jaishankar Sir, after finishing your insightful book, Why Bharat Matters, the first question that came to my mind was, "Why were you not present during UN CBD COP11?" I'm Balraj Arpit, a Computer Scientist and former International Youth Representative of India to the United Nations. During COP11, I was recommended by SAMSUNG Engineering (South Korea). My journey, marked by involvement in global youth forums and different international conferences, and the recognition of my research, has been significantly influenced by the principles you so eloquently present in your book. I contributed to the design and development of UN SDGs as an International Youth Representative of India during the UNFPA Global Youth Forum in Bali, Indonesia, the biggest youth conference ever organized by the United Nations since its formation.

Your book underscores the deep cultural and historical heritage of Bharat, brilliantly infusing stories from the Ramayan and connecting them with global affairs. This emphasizes the nation’s potential to lead in various global arenas. This resonates deeply with my personal and professional journey, particularly during my involvement in UN CBD COP11, UNFPA Global Youth Forum and UNEP TUNZA Asia Pacific Conference. Reflecting on it now, if you had been there, we would have had the opportunity for a great conversation and could have built a strong relationship, enriched by your culturally infused Bharat's perspective.
Bharat’s historical contributions to global knowledge are profound. Even today, none of the AI can develop as pure or better language Sanskrit with highly sophisticated and systematic grammar, something that was developed under shadow of a tree by the great Panini. From the sophisticated grammatical framework developed by Panini to the pioneering university of Nalanda, Bharat has been at the forefront of intellectual advancement. As a nation, our influence extends from mathematics and the golden ratio to modern physics and the atomic bomb.
Your book captures this rich tapestry of innovation and cultural depth, illustrating how these elements can shape contemporary global strategies. The principles of Chanakya Niti and Ayurvedic practices continue to offer valuable insights into governance and health, relevant even in today’s complex world.
My work at Yantriksh Cybernetics, where we harness advanced technologies to drive social change, is deeply inspired by the clarity and wisdom derived from Lord Shiva. This integration of science and spirituality is a hallmark of Bharat's culture and could have provided a unique perspective during COP11. Witnessing the idol of Nataraja at Bharat Mandapam was a mind-blowing experience for me, something that was also witnessed by world leaders during the G20 summit, sending a profound message. Additionally, at the biggest science lab on the planet, CERN, the Nataraja idol with a verse by Sri Adi Sankara inscribed on it, states, "O Omnipresent, the embodiment of all virtues, the creator of this cosmic universe, the king of dancers, who dances the Ananda Tandava in the twilight, I salute thee," inspiring the scientific community.
The blend of traditional knowledge and modern science positions Bharat uniquely to address global challenges. For instance, the ancient Bharat approach to sustainable living and biodiversity conservation could significantly influence global environmental policies.
I believe that Bharat is the only country capable of preventing World War III and a climate catastrophe in the 21st century. This assertion is backed by India’s longstanding commitment to peace and its strategic initiatives in global diplomacy. As a nation that has historically promoted values of non-violence and environmental harmony, Bharat’s role in global leadership is more critical than ever.
Your presence at COP11 could have reinforced Bharat’s commitment to these values on an international stage. The infusion of our rich cultural heritage into global policy discussions is essential for creating sustainable and equitable solutions. Bharat’s ability to offer high values and ethical leadership can guide the world away from conflict and towards a harmonious future.
Sir, your book is a testament to the profound impact that Bharat’s cultural and intellectual heritage can have on global affairs. It is this perspective that was needed during COP11. As we move forward, it is crucial that Bharat continues to assert its unique position in global forums, bringing its wealth of knowledge and values to the forefront of international discussions.
Bharat’s role in preventing global conflicts and addressing environmental crises cannot be overstated. By integrating our rich cultural heritage with modern scientific advancements, we can lead the world towards a sustainable and peaceful future. Your insights, as captured in Why Bharat Matters, have inspired the leap I've taken in my professional journey, driving me to contribute towards a better world.
Recently, our team at Yantriksh Cybernetics have made breakthroughs in the field of IoT technologies to revolutionize Smart City initiatives worldwide with the support of Sanjay Jha Sir (during his tenure as WRD Minister, Govt. of Bihar), Deep Joshi Sir (Retired Chief, NRDC and current Mentor & Chief, Yantriksh Cybernetics), ASPIRE - University of Hyderabad (Association for Scientific Pursuits for Innovative Research Enterprises), and Startup India. In 2022, I committed to making Gopalganj a smart city under the Gopalganj Ka Gaurav initiative by Dr. Nawal Kishor Sri (IAS), and last year, our team designed and developed SENTINEL - Smart Police Management & Investigation System for Digital Policing under the supervision of Shri. Swarn Prabhat Sir (IPS), SP Gopalganj, and Shri. Kalash Kumar Sir (recently qualified BSPE currently under training). SENTINEL has been selected as one of the top technologies by Bihar Police, leading to Gopalganj being designated as a nodal district for further advancements in this technology, which will be replicated in other districts of Bihar.
Given the chance to represent our country at national or international forums, we are eager to contribute further to advancing our nation using these cutting-edge technologies, aligning with the high values and ethical leadership that Bharat stands for.
